Actual salivary cortisol levels and EEG-predicted cortisol levels by subject

Research

The study conducted in 2008 in a sample size of 28 demonstrated the potential to use the EEG as a way to measure hormones instantly. The hormone tested was shown to be able predict salivary cortisol levels instantly r=0.73, p<0.01.

Further findings and technology developed by Psimonix has resulted from years of scientific research in the relationship between the EEG signals and the brain’s physiology, illuminating the neuro-functional architecture of the brain. This has resulted in developing algorithms from the EEG-imaged brain-signals for measuring substance levels such as hormones and neurotransmitters.

The 2015 second phase research methodology is peer-reviewed by Imperial University and carried out by an independent research institution. White paper and preprint on secondary research to be shared soon.
